Project Overview:

The City of Quesnel has contracted Andréa Khan Consulting to aid the City in better understanding available local tourism assets, market gaps, event hosting opportunities and to develop tourism experience packages. Economic development staff work with other departments and partner organizations on initiatives that support visitor and event attraction and other sector-specific projects.

Engagement:

A business community survey was conducted in November and December 2025 for all tourism-related businesses and organizations throughout the North Cariboo. The survey was designed to inform the work of this project, with a particular focus on the inventory of tourism/hosting assets in Quesnel & North Cariboo. This feedback will enable us to determine opportunities better and prioritize actions to grow the visitor economy.

The consulting team is conducting one-on-one interviews with key community contacts to gather further input on how we can strengthen Quesnel’s visitor economy.

In February, the North Cariboo Tourism Forum will take place for all tourism-related businesses and organizations in the North Cariboo for engagement and dialogue to better understand strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats within the North Cariboo’s tourism sector.

Registration is now open for the Tourism Forum!
